Standard-sized alumina is the most general alumina with mean particle diameter of about 60µm and ultimate crystal diameter is controlled. A-12 is alumina calcinedat high temperature and consists of relatively large ultimate crystal particles. A-13 series consists of fine anduniform ultimate crystals and is highly thermal-reactive, with 3 grades depending on ultimate crystal size. Coarse alumina is coarser than standard-sized one and characterized by low soda contents, with low dusting and high fluidity.
